35 Kms away, Dharamshala is a district headquarter of Kangra district. Another 15 Kms from Dharamshala is Mcleodganj where the world renowned spiritual leader of Tibet – His holiness The DALAI LAMA lives with his followers. The place is now known as “Little Lahasa in India”.
The Buddhist Monastery at Mcleodganj is worth a visit – very close to the residence of his Holiness The DALAI LAMA. The Tibetan institute of performing arts and a handicrafts centre is also worth a visit.
You could also visit the church of St. John – in – the wilderness, Dal lake, Dharmkot, Bhagsunag.
On the way back from Dharamshala a visit to the Chinmaya Ashram (An ashram and temple with a difference) is very refreshing. Joining the regular prayers is a soul soothing experience.
